Employee Safety - A Top Priority at NORD

The employees of NORD are our most important asset. NORD is fully committed to protecting the health and safety of its employees to make sure everyone returns home in the same condition they arrived every single day.

All employees receive necessary safety training and are provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) based on their department and job duties on their first day of orientation. NORD also has reimbursement programs for more specialized safety equipment, such as all safety-toed shoes and boots, as well as prescription safety glasses.

Safety Training

All NORD employees receive generalized health and safety training required for most jobs performed in the operations group, as well as working in the facility, including:

  • Powered Industrial Truck Pedestrian Awareness Safety
  • Machine Guarding

  • Personal Protective Equipment Requirements and Proper Selection
  • Ergonomics

Additional specialized training, permits, and certifications are provided for employees working in specific positions, those who hold specific responsibilities, or for individuals who choose to be designated as a NORD First Responder. These trainings include:

  • Arc Flash and Electrical Safety Training
  • Respiratory Protection and FIT Test Training
